Suppie Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Suppie (“Suppie”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use the Suppie mobile application and related services.
Suppie helps users generate recipes and shopping lists based on dietary preferences, a selected supermarket and available offers.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create and use an account, we process basic account information and login identifiers needed to create, secure and manage your account.
Preferences and app content
To provide Suppie’s features, we may process information such as:
- dietary preferences you enter;
- your selected supermarket;
- recipe requests and settings;
- generated recipes and shopping lists; and
- feedback or choices you make within the app.
Subscription information
If you purchase a subscription through the Apple App Store, Apple processes the payment. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited information needed to determine whether your subscription is active, expired or cancelled.
Push notification information
If you enable push notifications, the app and Apple may process a device notification token and your notification preferences so that notifications can be delivered. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Support communications
If you contact us, we may process your email address, the contents of your message and any information you choose to include.
Analytics information
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we process limited usage and product-interaction data, such as which screens you view and actions you take within the app, together with your account identifier so that this activity can be linked to your account. This data is used only for our own product analytics. It is not used for advertising and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
Technical information
Limited technical information may be processed where necessary to operate, secure and maintain the app, such as request logs, device or app version information and diagnostic information generated when an error occurs.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage user accounts;
- generate recipes and shopping lists;
- personalise results using your selected preferences and supermarket;
- provide and verify subscription access;
- send push notifications when you have enabled them;
- respond to support requests;
- maintain security and prevent misuse;
- analyse usage to understand and improve the app;
- fix errors and improve the app; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, we process personal data when this is necessary to provide the service you requested, when we have a legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving Suppie, when you have provided consent, or when processing is required by law.
You may withdraw consent for optional processing, such as push notifications, through your device settings or by contacting us.
5. Artificial intelligence
Suppie uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes and related shopping-list content. Information needed for a request may be sent to an AI service provider, including dietary preferences, the selected supermarket, relevant offers and the requested recipe criteria.
Please do not enter unnecessary personal or sensitive information in recipe requests. AI-generated content can contain mistakes or unsuitable suggestions. Always review ingredients, allergen information, product labels, quantities, cooking instructions and food-safety guidance. Suppie does not provide medical, nutritional or dietetic advice.
6. Sharing information
We may share information with service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate Suppie. These categories may include:
- Apple, for App Store subscriptions and push-notification delivery;
- account authentication, hosting, database and infrastructure providers;
- AI service providers used to generate recipes;
- a product-analytics provider (PostHog), hosted in the European Union, used to understand and improve how the app is used;
- technical support and security providers; and
- authorities or professional advisers where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the Netherlands or the European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Suppie, maintain security, handle support requests and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is processed.
Certain limited records may be retained after account deletion where this is necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or the protection of legal rights.
9. Account deletion
You can request deletion of your Suppie account by emailing getsuppieapp@gmail.com. We may ask for information needed to verify that you control the account.
Account deletion may remove access to saved preferences, recipes and shopping lists. Deleting the app from your device does not cancel an Apple subscription. Subscriptions must be managed separately through your Apple Account subscription settings.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
To exercise a privacy right, email getsuppieapp@gmail.com. You also have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
11. Children
Suppie is intended for users aged 9 and older. Users under 16 should use Suppie with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Where Dutch or other applicable law requires parental authorisation for processing based on consent, that consent must be given or authorised by the person with parental responsibility.
If you believe that a child has provided personal data without required authorisation, contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete the information.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
13. Third-party links and services
Suppie may rely on or link to third-party services. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third parties.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Suppie or applicable requirements change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
